Prague, 1939. The true story of Jan Wiener, a young Czech Jew, and his mother, Frantiska, struggling to survive at the outset of Nazi occupation during World War II. Very well done. The story is a stirring variation on a coming of age story. Krystof Hadek presents a believable teenager making bad choices in dangerous times while trying to pull away from his over-loving mother. Striking tale and very well done.
