On Christmas Eve, hoping to wow long-term girlfriend Sorcha, Alan buys and decorates an enormous Christmas tree for their tiny flat. But all Sorcha sees is a gaudy monster shedding needles on her laminate floor. She explodes into a rant and walks out. Alan plunges into denial, reassuring himself and the twelve-foot tall tree that "she'll be back any day now". Imagine his surprise when the tree seems to answer. &But when there's still still no sign of Sorcha by New Year's Eve, Alan begins to blame the tree. Days roll into nights until finally, he snaps, ripping the giant tree from the wall and hauling it, still fully decorated, on an epic, disaster filled journey through the streets of Dublin, destination the recycling yard.
